Guidelines for Underwriting
FM 91-Five recognizes businesses who support the station with on-air acknowledgement of their donation, at a rate of no more than three mentions per hour, in accordance with Federal Law.
Underwriting Announcements can Contain the Following:
- Name of Client
- Telephone Number of Client
- Location of Client's business
- Slogans that Identify, but do not Promote
- Brand Name and/or Registered Trade Mark Slogans.
- Value-Neutral, Factual Description of Client's Service and/or Product Line
Underwriting Announcements can NOT Contain the Following:
- Price or Sale Information
- Urge to Action: "Support", "Go to", "Ask"
- Qualitative Statements: "The Good People", "The Fine Products"
- Musical Backing
